Meet Your Fellow FOKKer, Rachel! Friendly Friday

We’re number one fans of our fans. (We’re sure you know how much you contribute to our existence.) So we want to thank you all with a column dedicated to you: “Friendly Fridays”! Once a month, we will be featuring a certain friend and their Knock Knock stuff-related stories.

Our September Friend of the Month caught our eye when she tweeted us a pic of her university bookstore’s Knock Knock stash. It made her day, and it made us cry invisible tears of joy. Little did we know that Rachel, our Friend of the Month (as you may have guessed), had her own heap of Knock Knock stuff in a drawer in her newsroom for day-to-day happenings! And as a full-time college journalist (with an election season to cover) and a rest-of-the-time photog blogger, the gal has no time to waste.

Rachel told us once that every time she went to get materials for class, she ended up walking out with a bunch of our stuff instead. She clearly wasn't lying.

Name: Rachel Cisto. Or any of the following: news director, Red, “that girl,” or @RachelCisto.

Location: Originally from Weare, New Hampshire (pronounced “where”), but currently attending college in Hartford, Connecticut.

Occupation: College student/reporter/news director of my university’s Student Television Network. I get to choose what stories go on air, I supervise reporters, and on top of all that, I get to conduct interviews and write my own stories (after reading, checking and approving all of the other reporters’ stories, of course!).

Favorite Knock Knock product? Ooh, tough question! Well, I guess it would be my first Knock Knock product, the My Dysfunctions Journal. Although my desk in the newsroom is full of various pads and stickies, so . . . Well, maybe the Get Crap Done Pen. [The pads and stickies] are so much fun though, and all of my co-workers LOVE playing with them!

A closer look. Yes, looks like Rachel cleared out our shelves.

Knock Knock Story Time: Okay, um, my first semester of college, I was super stressed all the time, and I wandered into the university bookstore to see a display of various Knock Knock journals. I decided to buy one, because I needed all the help I could get. I started journaling daily, and it helped me SO MUCH. So once I found out that I would be getting a promotion from “reporter” to “news director,” I bought a bunch of Knock Knock stuff for my desk. Then I stumbled into the bookstore again at the beginning of this year and bought another journal (the It’s Gonna Be Okay Journal) and a boatload more of notepads and sticky notes. (I’ve been getting quite a bit of use out of Complaint, Stupid Question, Self-Therapy and Make a Decision.) I also got the Get Crap Done Pen (which I use all the time) and the Take A Pill eraser kit.

Indeed, we should. And we promise to stay on-topic at least forty percent of the time.

We hope you have plenty of moments to breathe during your ticking schedule, Rachel. Keep up the great reporting, and if you do run into a politician, just remember we also have Hey Asshole Pads and Seriously? sticky notes in-stock.
